The copper stamped TORUN. Length 40 cm.

Provenance

The vendor's parents were friends with Torun's family. The daughter of Torun, Pia, was a friend of the vendor.

Ann Westin, "Torun - Coversation with Vivianna Torun Bülow Hübe, Carlsson Bokförlag, 1993, p 27 see similar pieces shown hanging on the wall in the studio.
Torun had her first studio up at an attic in Stockholm. She was a young student and also a mother and had to work with the materials she could afford at the time. She was very much inspired by African works of art.

Designer

Vivianna Torun Bülow-Hübe, often known simply as Torun, was one of Sweden's most important 20th century silversmiths and a master jeweller. She is the first female silversmith to have become internationally noted.
