Probably woven in 1964 at Svensk Hemslöjd, Sveavägen i Stockholm. A sewn on label at the back. (Very rare).
Partly slightly faded. Little wear, slightly dirty.
The carpet was probably at the exhibition "Blå variant" at Galerie Bleue in Stockholm.

Lars Gynning (1920-07-29 - 2003-10-29) är den svenske konstnär som betytt mest som skapare av mönster till vävda tapeter (tapisserier) i Frankrike under 1900-talet. Efter studier i både Sverige och Frankrike började samarbetet med den kända firman Pinton Frères i Aubusson på 1940-talet. Omkring 250 vävnader är tillverkade efter Gynnings förlagor. En av Frankrikes största textilstjärnor Jean Lurçat är en av de konstnärer som umgåtts med och tidigt påverkat Gynning som sedan helt skapat sin egen stil.
Lars Gynning is the Swedish artist who had the greatest impact as a creator of patterns for woven wallpapers (tapestries) in France during the 20th century. After studying in Sweden and France, Gynning began collaborating with the famous company Pinton Frères in Aubusson during the 1940s. Around 250 tapasties were created after Gynnings designs. One of France's greatest textile starts Jean Lurçat is one of the artists who associated with and greatly inspired Gynning, the seed from which his own style grew.
