Provenance

Lennart Ehrenborg (1923-2017), a Swedish documetary film maker.
Lennart Ehrenborg commssioned this ring as a gift to his wife Inga. A copy of the correspondence between Torun and Ehrenborg is shown above. A copy of Torun's original drawing for the ring is enclosed. "The best ring I made to date" was her comment about the ring at the time.

In 1964 Lennart Ehrenborg went together with Mac Ahlberg to Biot in the South of France in order to make films about Torun Bülow Hübe and also about the neighbouring potter Hans Hedberg "Svenska Konsthantverkare i Biot" (Swedish crafts in Biot). Torun and the Ehrenborg family became friends at the time.

Vivianna Torun Bülow-Hübe, often known simply as Torun, was one of Sweden's most important 20th century silversmiths and a master jeweller. She is the first female silversmith to have become internationally noted.
