More information

"Dum Dum Boys" is Mikael Jansson’s powerful series of portraits featuring male rock stars with lived-in faces such as Iggy Pop, Lou Reed, Nick Cave, David Johansen, David Gahan, Bryan Ferry and Michael Stipe. For the spring 2011 men’s fashion supplement of the New York Times T-magazine, Mikael Jansson created a series of images called “Ballad of a Thin Man”, styled by Bill Mullen and featuring the mentioned stars.
A selection of the rock star images were shown at the exhibition Dum Dum Boys at Gun Gallery in Stockholm in 2011 and at The Ravestijn Gallery as well as The Pan, both in Amsterdam 2013.
Jansson is one of the current, leading fashion photographers working for W Magazine and Vogue Paris. Also, he regularly contributes to Interview Magazine for whom he shoots celebrity cover features and influential actors, musicians and designers.
