A finely carved nephrite sculpture of an immortal, Qing dynasty, probably Qianlong (1736-95).

Carved holding a double gourd fruit in his hand, clad in long flowing robes. Height 12,3 cm. Wooden stand accompanies the piece. Height with wooden stand 14,5 cm.

Provenance

From the Collection of Paul R Wedendal (1924-2010). Thence by descent. The large part of the Wedendal Collection was sold in these rooms 2011, Sale H036.

The black and white image shows Paul R Wedendal (1924-2010). The coloured images are from his home in Djursholm, Stockholm and taken in 2011 when Bukowskis sold the mayor part of his collection.
