A matched large pair of Darte French Empire vases.

Mark in red Darte, Palais Royal, no 21. Inventory sticker with lot not 2808. Of baluster shape on a high base, raised handles that finishes in ramsheads. Richly decorated in gold, finely painted with a central floral composition. Height 61 cm.

One with interior star crack to glaze by base. Wear.

Provenance

According to family tradition from the Collection of Carl XIV Johan, Rosendal, Stockholm.
