Portfolio "La Feé Electricité" (10)
The complete set of ten lithographs in colors by Charles Sorlier after Dufy, on Arches paper, 1953, the first plate signed by the publisher verso and numbered 132/350, printed by Mourlot, Paris, published by Pierre Berès, Paris. In a blue cloth portfolio. S: 101.5 x 63.5 cm.
The huge fresco upon which these prints were based was commissioned for the 1937 International Exposition in Paris for the entrance to the Pavillon de la Lumière et de l’Électricité (The Pavilion of Light and Electricity), built by Robert Mallet-Stevens on the Champ de Mars. It was donated to the Musée d’art moderne de la ville de Paris and installed in 1964. When combined the ten prints in this series re-create the panoramic view of the mural.
