"Kustbilderna kring 1950 hade haft en kolorit av återhållen intensitet. Efterhand ökas färgstyrkan i oljemålningarna. På 60-talet stegras effekten med de rena färgernas hjälp till en nivå som verkar nästan flourescerande. Trots färgens osannolikt höga lyskraft får han oss genom sin koloristiska magi att tro på landskapen: böljorna vandrar mot stranden, vinden leker i gräset, ljuset tänder all färg som finns gömd i klippblock och hällar.
