Big Sur är en Nationalpark i norra Kalifornien. Fotoserien är baserad på en dikt av Jack Keruac med samma namn, där han försöker beskriva havets ljud i fonetisk text. I Felländers Big Sur-serie tolkar han dikten genom att fotografera Keruacs fonetiska ord. Ett av dessa är samma som titeln "Kabroomkryss".
För att fånga havets ombytliga natur så provade Felländer för första gången att använda den multiexponeringsteknik som sedan blivit hans signum.
Verk av konstnären finns i bland andra Hillary och Bill Clintons och Kennedy-familjens samlingar.
