An armorial serving dish, Qing dynasty, Qianlong (1736-95).

Octagonal shape, decorated with flowers and the coat of arms of the Stewart family. With the motto 'Sola Juvat Virtus'. Lenght 36,5 cm.

Restored.

Provenance

The Service was made for Honorable Alexander Stewart, Lord Blantyre. Married in 1773 Katherine, daughter and heir of Patrick Lindsay of Eaglescairnie. His brother Charles ordered an almost identical service with the monogram CS.
