A CARPET, an antique Bakshaish, ca 693 x 398,5 cm, dated "1298"AH/1880 AD probably.
A terracotta coloured ground with a polychrome medallion, two vegetative ornaments and a blue melange framework with palmettes, flowers, leaves and cartouches with faces. A wide dark blue main border with large patterns of vines with archaic mythological animals, stylized flowers and palmettes with human like shapes.
Some abraches. Some partly a little harder wear, slightly dirty, stains, repairs, re-knotted areas. The sides have minor fold wear, the ends have a couple of rows of knots missing.
