Verner Panton
(Denmark, 1926-1998)

A CARPET, handknotted, Morocco, ca 295 x 209 cm, signed V.P. (Verner Panton).

The carpets were made from around 1974 and a few years ahead by Mira-X, during Verner Panton's life. There were about ten different patterns, most of them in only one example. The patterns were made in multicolor, beige and in brown/cognac as this. Traces of two labels at the back. (Rare).

Partly some wear, slightly dirty, insignificant stains.

Provenance

A private home in Lund (south west of Sweden) where the living room was designed by a Danish architect completely in this pattern and colour scheme with textiles from Mira-X, around 1976-77.

Literature

Compare with MIRA X, documentation, Hertig + Co, Biel/Bienne, Switzerland, 1974, page 29.
