Vivianna Torun Bülow-Hübe

a rattan bracelet, Sweden 1945-50's.

With threads of brass. Circumference (inner dimension) 19,5 cm.

During her studies at Konstfack (College of Arts, Crafts and Design) between 1945-50, being short of money, Torun was working with brass threads and rattan rather than in silver.

Provenance

A gift from Willy and Birgitta Kyrklund in the 1950's, then by descent to the present owner.

Designer

Vivianna Torun Bülow-Hübe, often known simply as Torun, was one of Sweden's most important 20th century silversmiths and a master jeweller. She is the first female silversmith to have become internationally noted.
