Mahogany veneer. Demi-lune shape, tapering legs, mahogany, brass-inlaid. One with red inscription on the back "WINTERBÄCK KOTKA". Length 105, width 53, height 96 cm.

Пара комодов, очень похожих, стиль «Жакоб», Россия, 1800-1810-е годы.
Форма «Циркуль», сужающиеся ножки, фанировка красным деревом, вставки чёрного дерева, латунные полоски.

Provenance

According to the text on the back of one commode, they have been in the collection of Gösta Winterbäck (b. 1885). He was a dentist, cultural personality and one of the founders of the Regional museum in Kotka, Finland. After his death they were probably split and ended with two of his daughters. The commodes were purchased by the present owner in Finland in the 1990's at two different sales.
