Some surface dust. The plexi surface attracts dust due to static electricity but the dust is easy to remove with a feather-duster. Single finger prints/surface dirt. Mounted to matt acrylic glass.

Verket ”Interior” är ett bra exempel på hur Sirous Namazi under sin konstnärliga karriär ofta arbetat med begreppet rumslighet. Den till synes monokromt svarta bilden döljer ett fotografi, taget med storformatskamera i ett mörklagt rum. Här har Namazi återskapat den effekt som uppstår när man rör sig från ett ljust rum till ett mörkt, det vill säga den framkallningsprocess som styrs av att ögat helt enkelt vänjer sig. Ju längre tiden går desto mer ser vi av det som först bara var mörker och en rumsinteriör träder sakta fram ur den svarta ytan.
År 2006 belönades Sirous Namazi med Carnegie Art Awards stipendium. Juryns nominering löd: "The Carnegie scholarship [...] is awarded to Sirous Namazi for two works which both, despite their difference in technique and size, revolve around the difficulties of representation and communication. With unfailing humor, Namazi pairs the aesthetics of minimalism with the ideology of failure, and the result is often an illusion on the margin of painting."
