A wood, gilt and lacquered figure of Zhenwu, Qing dynasty, presumably Qianlong (1736-1795).

Seated majestically with his left hand holding a book, dressed in long robes incised with cloud scroll, secured above the waist with a court belt, below his exposed armor. His head framed by the billowing celestial scarf, his broad face with serene, yet powerful expression. Height 41,5 cm.
