Provenance

From the Collection of Shao Nan Chang, who came to Sweden in the 1940’s as a circus artist. He was an entrepreneur and started his own business importing fabrics and other things from China. He and his Swedish wife Ulla opened a shop in the Old Town in Stockholm (closed in 1967). He then went in to business with the Liu family in Gothenburg and started the Restaurant Peking, at Fredsgatan in Gothenburg. He collected Chinese antiques, the Swedish Collector who is now selling these pieces bought them directly from Shao Nan Chang when he moved to Germany and decided to sell most of his collection.
