More information

The last Kings of Ayuthaya were important promoters of commissioned porcelain, their method of asserting authority was to tour the country in style. The porcelain, specially made in Jingdezhen, in Thai shapes and with Thai decorations, was for use during banquets in monasteries and government houses, known to collectors as BENCHARONG ware.
