The relations between man, animal and the forces of nature are ever present themes in the world of Nathalie Djurberg. The link is lust. A lust to unite, to destroy, dominate or escape. Nathalie Djurberg belong to a group of sedish artist that enjoy international recognition. Her work has a great span and encompasses the well known animations, works in neon and psychedelic sculptural pieces. In her work, the spectator is forced to confront subjectmatter many turn their backs on: the ugly; the inexplicable or the outright offensive. What makes You manage is her ability to add som sense of humor to theexcesses. Nathalie Djurberg has been awarded with the Carnegie Art Award and the Silver Lion at the 53rd Venice Biennale. Djurberg is represented at, among other collections, the Moderna Museet, Stockholm and at the Guggenheim Museum, New York. Her work is also included in many international private collections.
