A famille rose yellow ground bowl, Qing dynasty, Guangxu six-character mark in red and of the period (1875-1908).

Medallion bowl potted with deep curved side rising to a flaring rim, enameled in bright tones with four roundels enclosing the characters Wan Shou Wu Jiang (Longevity without end). Diameter 10,9 cm.

Provenance

From the Collection of a Swedish Connoisseur, Stockholm. Acquired at Kina Magasinet, Stockholm. This is the second item in the collection, and purchased in the 1950's for 35 Kr.

More information

The collection is a study collection, accumulated during a lifetime. The collector operated within the field of oriental works of art. Due to his knowledge and sense of quality he was of great help to many of the members on Kinaklubben (The China Club) with members such as the Swedish Crown Prince Gustav Adolf, Emil Hultmark and Carl Kempe. The collection is mainly acquired in Sweden and London.
