Fotografen Terry O'Neill tyckte att det inte fanns ett enda porträtt som fångade Amy Winehouses (1983-2011) sanna karaktär. Efter många om och men lyckades han övertala henne att låta honom ta en bild av henne i samband med en konsert i London. Bilden publicerades som omslag till Sunday Times Magazine den 28 juli 2008 och fångar verkligen Winehouses speciella kombination av styrka och sårbarhet.
“I was working on a present for Nelson Mandela, when he came here for his 90th birthday and there was a concert for him in Hyde Park. Amy was due to sing but she was in hospital. She actually got out of bed to come and perform. I only took two frames but I’m so glad I did because she was a really talented lady.”
