More information

Boca Tigris or ’Humén’ wich means ‘Tiger gate’ is a narrow strait in the Pearl River Delta, Guandong, China, where the Pearl River charges into the South China Sea. Because of its strategic location as a naval gateway to Canton (todays Guangzhou), the strait was early on fortified. Some of the major battles in the First Opium War were fought here.
