A large silver tray, late Qing dynasty (1644-1912). Marks of Gan Mao Xing.

Oblong with straight sides and ends and cut corners, all edged applied bamboo-formed sections, each of which is engraved with bamboo branches. The entire border is decorated with figure scenes and characters meaning 'good luck and fortune for the whole family'. Length 70 cm.

Dents. Minor wear.

Provenance

Gan Mao Xing, the first silversmith to work in the city on the Yangtze River that we know as Jiujiang.
