A moulded flower-shaped blue and white dish, Ming dynasty with Wanlis six character mark and of the period (1573-1619).

Finally modelled with two rows of shaped overlapping petals forming concave panels, the inner band infilled with pendant trefoil motifs and the other band carved and painted as leafves. The outer band decorated with lanca carachters inspersed with flowers. Diameter 21 cm.

Repair to rim, fritting.

The Hultmark Collection, previously at the Hans Öström Collection, no 1007.

Dishes of this design are in the National Palace Museum, Taiwan, illustrated in Minji Meihin Zuoku, vol III, 1978. As well as in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, Published in the oriental Ceramics, the World's Greatest Collections, vol. II, 1982.
