Kersti Holmquist, "Silversmeden Wiwen Nilsson", 1990, ill. sid. 84. Kaffekannan är en vidareutveckling av den vinkanna som Wiwen Nilsson först presenterade på Stockholmsutställningen 1930. Här har Wiwen utarbetat en renodlat modernistisk form som ger syn för sägen att "less is more". Den sexkantiga formen får ljuset att skifta i fasetternas rena yta.
Designer
Wiwen Nilsson was a Swedish designer born in Copenhagen. He studied at his father's workshop, as well as in Germany, Denmark, and France. Nilsson is primarily known for his objects created in silver with geometric, clean, and austere forms. Nilsson debuted at the Gothenburg Exhibition in 1923. At the Stockholm Exhibition in 1930, he had his major breakthrough, and his innovative modernism was a success. Nilsson created, among other things, jewellery, table silver, and services.
