A large famille rose 'European Subject' Hunting punch bowl, Qing dynasty, Qianlong (1736-95).

The deep rounded sides rising from a short tapering foot, finely and brightly enameled to the interior with a medallion of enclosing a European Huntsman with his hounds. The exterior with with two large leafy scrollpanels eclosing European eqestrian hunters. Diameter 40,5 cm.

Restored.

Provenance

The scene might be taken from a European print made in 1753 by T. Burford after the painting by James Seymour.
