Skrift på basens kant: "Under ryssarnas vilda härjningar utefter det utmattade Sveriges ostkust gjordes ett huvudangrepp mot Stockholm vilket härstädes lyckligen avvärjdes, anno 1719 13-20 augusti, kanonkulan funnen på Trolludden minner om denna händelse".
